This is partially fixed. Phone does not buzz when screen lock is on but when I am inside the phone, the phone still buzzes. Version 1.1

Can you check to make sure you have vibrate turned off in the settings-> sound please?

text a friend or coworker, put phone in silent mode, continue texting. phone still vibrates. appears to be an intermittent issue for me right now.

Silent mode has two options. You can set the device to be silent and have vibrate. If you press the volume down from there, it turns the vibrate off as well as the volume. Can you double check which setting you have? There should be a wavey icon to indicate whether or not you have vibrate on or off.

The setting off is the total silent mode, no vibration mode. I am aware of that. I reproduced this last week, start texting and when an incoming text comes in and you are still on the messages app, the phone still buzzes but it appears that it doesn't buzz when you are in another app in total silent mode when you receive a text.

Ok, will try to reproduce again.
Ugh. It appears that the UI is wrong somewhere, because if you go to the settings-> sound, the vibration might be on even though the vibrate might not be showing in the UI.
If you make sure that it's turned off in the settings, hit home, then make sure the sound is all the way off... it doesn't vibrate nor make a sound.
There definitely is a bug in here somewhere. I tried with a Buri device on 1.4

Who can we flag to fox this? or is there another bug already on file for this
Without clear STRs to reproduce this issue, it may be hard to get a dev to look at this bug.
This doesn't occur when we reboot the device or get to a clean state.
Something is causing the issue and we need to figure out how to get to that state.

STR:
1. Choose a contact to text
2. Make sure phone is silent (no vibrations) with volume buttons, double check in settings
3. Text the desired
4. Wait for response while in messages app
5. Phone will still vibrate
6. However phone will not vibrate outside of messages app
Always reproducible: YES
When setting the volume down, did you do it on the homescreen or the SMS app? SMS app will set the volume for Media sound, but not for the ringer & notification/vibrate.

The volume down is done via the homescreen and not the sms app. I am aware that the sms volume is different than the ringer one.

Thanks, Andrew! I saw it now. I had to actually be in the conversation in the message app and not a the landing of the message app.
1. go to homepage
2. set volume all the way down and disable vibrate
3. launch message app
4. select a conversation
5. from that other phone send a SMS message
Expected: phone will not vibrate
Actual: phone vibrates
This occurs on
