There are no numbers displayed for messages in folders (read/unread).
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Call up Mail task.
Actual Results: 1. Numbers of read/unread messages are not displayed.
Expected Results: Numbers of read/unread messages in folders should be
displayed next to folders. (On Netscape, additionally, a toggle switch permits
hiding these numbers if desired.)

I can get the folders to display their unread contents (in bold, within
parentheses) when I click on folders. They do not display the number of unread
folders automatically until I do so, however. A minor bug.
Severity: normal → minor
Reporter, the unread/read totals are displayed in the lower-right-hand corner of the Mail/
News window, just to the left of the on/offline, security lock, and window-resizing
widgets.. Marking this bug WORKSFORME.

this got fixed on the trunk recently.
this was broken for the alternative 3 pane.
Fixed with bug 90782.
