We need to update https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Gecko_user_agent_string_reference Per bug 878961 we increment the gecko version for 1.1: Mozilla/5.0 (Mobile; rv:18.1) Gecko/18.1 Firefox/18.1 Per request from OEMs, user agents *can* now include the device ID: Mozilla/5.0 (Mobile; XXXX; rv:18.1) Gecko/18.1 Firefox/18.1 Mozillas recommendations on device/model id in Firefox OS UA: https://docs.google.com/a/mozilla.com/document/d/1iRhaQMfjafjIk2I0Q7dOcW5b9ib82bxM7NwwPMCAqas/edit?usp=sharing
There was an open question about how public we should be with this change. We have not decided that we want to encourage other partners to include a device/model identifier at this point and we want to discourage the Web from sniffing for this token. I would not include this information in the documentation just yet.
