RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 877479

People

(Reporter: zC1sGxwgj, Unassigned)

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:23.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/23.0 (Beta/Release)
Build ID: 20130803192641

Steps to reproduce:

Unchecked "Always show tabs" in previous version of Firefox. The setting is apparently no longer exposed through the preferences UI.

Actual results:

Noticed today I had a single tab open. Closed Firefox and reopened to see if it was a fluke but the single tab remained. Went to about:config and verified browser.tabs.autoHide set to 'true'.

Expected results:

Tabs should have been hidden when all but last tab closed (i.e., when there is no need for tabs.)

Sorry for the duplicate bug report. I may have a misunderstanding about the way about:config preferences work: Does a preference remain in about:config even if it is no longer used? I had thought that since the preference remained it was supposed to have some function, even though not exposed through the UI.
