User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:23.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/23.0 (Beta/Release) Build ID: 20130730113002 Steps to reproduce: I started Firefox, the new Ver. 23 opened, and in spite of my settings in Tools/Options there was a blank tab in a tab bar that I could not close. Actual results: Manipulating settings in the Config browser:tab settings did not resolve the issue, neither did going in to the Tools/Options menu, selecting the Tab options, and verifying that the "open a new window in a new tab" option was unchecked. There are no options in the View menu to turn off the unwanted Tab bar, and opening new windows will no longer open a new window, but opens a new tab instead. This is a SERIOUS GLITCH OR FLAW in an otherwise quite nice browser, and I hope it can be corrected quickly Expected results: I should have been able to turn the tabbed browsing OFF in a number of ways, the principle one being the Tools/Options menu settings for Tab properties. This was not the case, and I had to ultimately search out and add an extension to your Tab system to patch the flaw, instead of being able to resolve it. With Windows 7 there is NO FURTHER NEED for a Tab bar or tabs. The Windows 7 task bar can be set to hide itself until needed, then pops up all of the windows open for the Firefox browser, and even magnifies those moused over to provide clear views of the information in them. Please resolve this issue quickly, and don't try to label it an invalid issue. I've been looking at your customer dashboard, and I'm not the only person who has an issue with this. There is no excuse for forcing this option on those people who, for whatever reason, do not want or need it.
This issue is not only annoying, it is damned annoying. I don't mind you folks putting in stuff I don't need, I like the fact that Firefox is extremely capable and flexible. But if I don't need, or don't want, some feature or option, and in this case it meets both those criteria, don't need or want, you need to give us the option to TURN IT OFF. There's no reason not to be given the ability to turn Tabs and Tabbed browsing off. For people with smaller screens, or add-on browser bars, there's EVERY reason to want to turn unneeded features off. As I stated in the above message, the Tab bar and Tabs are utterly redundant for anyone running Windows Vista/7/8, and I didn't want them enabled when I was using Millenium or XP, either. If you think you have a valid reason why a redundant and unnecessary feature should be shoved down everyone's throat, PLEASE RELATE THIS TO ME. If nothing else, I know a couple of people who will love to post your reasoning or lack thereof on their, and your, Facebook pages. Otherwise just stick in an off button for those of us who don't want to use freakin' tabs, don't want to be bothered with freakin' tabs, and/or don't like freakin' tabs. Thanks in advance for your understanding, Henry D. Rinehart

Loic this is because we removed the ability to hide the tab bar in Firefox 23, so this doesn't need troubleshooting.

Yeah, you're right. I wasn't sure about that (long verbose message not very clear), that's why I asked about troubleshooting. ;)
