This is a bug that I've seen as long as I can remember. I think it still occurs in builds up to say, a month ago, but I haven't done a migration from 4.x since that time. I use mark as deleted for imap in 4.x, and it will migrate to mozilla, as far as it showing the pref as "mark as deleted." But it doesn't do that in actual usage. I have to change the pref to something else, change it back to "mark as deleted", and then restart the browser (maybe the restart has been fixed, saw some bugs about that). At this point, it will work.

This is not only occurring on a migrated profile. It is also occurring on new profile....please see bug 69151.
