Steps to reproduce:

I'm using Firefox with two windows:
window A bbc.co.uk/news, say
window B Gmail inbox -> it's always the case, this is a dedicated window

I'm now using Gmail window B always minimize, but I still loose the focus from time to time, specially when visiting bbc.co.uk/news in window A
It's becoming a major problem for me


Actual results:

Gmail inbox in window B steals the focus of, say, bbc.co.uk/news in window A (often with this website, but not always) 


Expected results:

window B (Gmail inbox) doesn't steal the focus from window A

Could you test with the Flash plugin disabled in Firefox.

Well, disabling all Flash is not really a durable workaround.
The real culprit is the protected mode in Flash Player which steals the focus of Firefox. See § 'last resort' on http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1018071?tstart=0 to disable the protected mode.

thanks for the info about 'last resort' though, I will try with this setting
