This is a regression caused by my checkin to bug 89407. I think there are two was of fixing this bug: 1)Fix the root cause of LiveAudio not working. This is bug 90558. 2)Backout my changes to bug 89407 or change them so it ONLY includes Quicktime. I prefer fixing #1 as it may also fix other bugs in plugins, but that work will need to be done in the cache. Fix #2 is much easier to do. Thinking about #2 a bit, perhaps we should specifically EXCLUDE LiveAudio, even for bug 90062, as I think it won't work until #1 is fixed.
LiveAudio? Yuk. It is ugly. Not that I want it working but I agree, we should fix the cause of the problem. BTW, anybody tried QT 5.02 on Windows? npqtplugin4.dll crashes my 4.x on start up.
QT 5.02 starts okay for me. Been running with it for a week. What's the stack like? If this is crashing for you, perhaps we should just back out the whole patch from bug 89407 rather than trying to get QT 5.02 to work?
It crashes my FOUR_DOT_EKS . Mozilla is fine. So I don't bother much.
Changing the checkin made for bug 89407 won't do any good if bug 90062 is implemented unless a provision is made for part of 90062 to specifically exclude certain plugins.
Sean, bug 90062 is for the trunk. This is for the branch. Attaching a better patch. Actually, because this is still really part of bug 89407 and that one has approval, I'm going to re-open that one.
