Played around a bit with a Softonic installer (in a sandbox) which installed two add-ons alongside it.

about:newaddon was shown for the toolbar add-on, but was not shown for the updater add-on.

The following prefs were changed without notice:
browser.startup.homepage http://mysearch.sweetpacks.com/?src=10&st=12&crg=3.5000006.10061&barid={56D7EEC1-066D-11E3-A7A5-5404A6204827}
keyword.url http://mysearch.sweetpacks.com/?src=2&st=12&crg=3.5000006.10061&barid={56D7EEC1-066D-11E3-A7A5-5404A6204827

Uninstalled SweetPacks/SweetIM and the prefs were not reset to their default values nor the SweetPacks Toolbar add-on removed.

Already blocked on bug 881447.

Looks like they changed this one, so I'll take care of it in this bug.
