90815 - total hang when email address autocomplete LDAP server not responding

When email address autocomplete is using LDAP, and the LDAP server
is not responding, mozilla totally hangs. No mozilla windows respond.

Even worse, the compose window has grabbed input focus, so nothing
can be typed into any other window on the system.
Fortunately, mozilla can be killed using a window manager feature,
e.g. the GNOME panel, or by logging in remotely.


Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.enable LDAP for email address autocomplete
2.temporarily disable LDAP server
3.type a partial email address in a compose window, and pause for
a second or two.

Actual Results:  total mozilla hangup, input focus frozen in all windows (not
just mozilla).

Expected Results:  either give an error message on LDAP timeout, or simply give
up silently, as though no results were found in the LDAP lookup.

A tcpdump showed continual requests sent to the LDAP server.

Marking these all WORKSFORME sorry about lack of response but were very
overloaded here. Only reopen the bug if you can reproduce with the following steps:

1) Download the latest nightly (or 0.9.6 which should be out RSN)
2) Create a new profile
3) test the bug again

If it still occurs go ahead and reopen the bug. Again sorry about no response
were quite overloaded here and understaffed.
