BuildID: 2001071604 When I click the link to subscribe to new newsgroups, it can take 10-15 seconds before the subscribe window comes up. During this time, the mouse cursor is normal and there's no feedback that Mozilla is doing something. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Click the Subscribe to Newsgroups link 2. 3. Actual Results: No hourglass cursor or any other feedback Expected Results: The mouse pointer has an hourglass and/or other visual feedback I thought that mozilla had hung up since CPU was at 100% and I couldn't do anything, but after the subscribe dialog came up after a while everything was fine.
Part of/related to bug 73501, but not a DUP, outright. Thanks for filing this.

This is very annoying with a dial up conection 56k. It can take 5 to 10 minutes to come up with no indication that its working. If your news server has lots of newsgroups like news.telusplanet.net even with a DSL connection it takes about a minute. Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i586; en-US; rv:0.9.9) Gecko/20020313

With Thunderbird there is a progress bar that fits the bill. I think this could be closed.
This is no Thunderbird bug, so why should that be of any relevance here?
