Deleting messages from trash marks all messages as deleted

I do not know if this can be reproduced, but here is what I did:
1. Click Trash folder
2. Select all messages
3. Delete (not sure whether I used Delete key or Delete button)
4. Return to Inbox - all message icons are marked with a red 'X'

This bug is targeted at a Mac classic platform/OS, which is no longer supported
by mozilla.org. Please re-target it to another platform/OS if this bug applies
there as well or resolve this bug.
I will resolve this bug as WONTFIX in four weeks if no action has been taken.
