The Table of news and below does not render correctly. It should be width=100% but it is not. I have tested with M7 and M6 on winNt and Win98
Created attachment 658 [details] testcase; problem table narrowed to the base problem (with comments)
I'm sure this is not unique, but I can't find a match offhand. At any rate, the second testcase shows the issue: "in Nav4.x, the middle column gets the width of the maximum width cell in the column; on 5.0, the middle column gets the opposite treatment."
Created attachment 659 [details] testcase; reverse row order of previous testcase -- different widths
From the third testcase: "Here's the same two row table, but the second instance reverses the order of the rows: note that it is the first row that defines the width (which would be right if this were table-layout: fixed ;-)"
I'm testing this with 1999-07-31-08 on Win98 The tables look the same now on Nav4.5 and Mozilla. There's one glitch remained: the example in the 2nd attachment sometimes has a horizontal scrollbar, although the table fits the viewport. "Sometimes" means depending on the window width... The scrollbar however cannot be used to scroll even 1 pixel.
Yes. This is FIXED for the original bug. However, with jul30 viewer win95, I also see the 'sometimes horizontal scrollbar' -- it is sensitive to the initial width of the viewport ... for troy? (if not a DUPL).
This is mostly fixed. However, the last column of the first table of the 2nd attachment doesn't reflow properly until the window is resized.
Moving to M13.

I'm not sure when this got fixed. The horizontal scroll bars sometimes appearing was another bug that got fixed also.
Using 11/16 build, verified fixed.
