Over to the german team, http://hg.mozilla.org/gaia-l10n/de/file/default/apps/settings/settings.properties#l302 is the source.

I agree that "Nie" would be the consistent casing with the rest of the http://transvision.mozfr.org/?repo=gaia&sourcelocale=en-US&locale=de&search_type=strings&recherche=nie

The issue here is that the "Nie"/"Never" string is shared between
Under menu Settings -> Display -> Display timeout it is "nie" (engl. = Never)
Under menu Settings -> Battery -> Auto activation of Energy save mode it is "nie"

The first string is "Screen timeout [time delta/never]" in English. Because there is no suiting translating for "timeout", I translated it as "Bildschirm abschalten nach" ("Turn screen off after"), making it a sentence because without the "nach" ("after"), it also doesn't optimal. And because it is a sentence, "nie" is lowercase.

In Settings -> Battery -> Auto activation of Energy save mode, the "nie" is the only selection which isn't a sentence because the string is shared. But that is okay because the selection values form the sentence.

Settings -> Device info -> System update -> Setting -> Actualization interval
is an interval and not used as sentence and okay like that (uppercase). For your information, I have no "Nie" here (latest Gaia 1.1).

KaiRo, any good idea how to fix this? Or should we leave it in the current state? To get uppercase, we would have to remove the sentence structures.

Current state:

Anzeige
Bildschirm abschalten nach
  [X Minuten]
  [nie]

Energiesparmodus:
Automatisch aktivieren
  [bei XX% Akkuladestand]
  [nie]

It would be ideal if the "nach" could go into the dropdown, actually.

That said, the "never" should not be shared between those entries in en-US, we should file a bug on that. I guess there's languages which will could need different word forms there dependent on the verb or something.

Yeah, the re-use sounds like a bug. Can you file?
Filed the sharing of 'never' as bug 916097.

Fixed this bug with these uploads:
Gaia 1.1: http://hg.mozilla.org/gaia-l10n/de/rev/8d0897436a59
Gaia 1.0.1: http://hg.mozilla.org/releases/gaia-l10n/v1_0_1/de/rev/06d7685d5bd7

:aryx, is there anything left to do here for 1.2 ? Unclear if this is a true koi+ ?
Flags: needinfo?(archaeopteryx)
No, the issue has been fixed on all localization branches and verified fixed on 1.1, so it's fixed in leo, koi and later versions. And in my opinion, it's just a polish bug, no koi+.
