916001 - Phones with auto-focus cameras do not focus when starting to record a video

If you want to start recording a video the camera does no initial focus but starts recording immediately. This might be ok if you record a video outside but once you have to get closer to an object, the video it totally blurred. It can't be used for anything.

I don't have a device running 1.2 yet, so I can't say if the behavior is different for that version.

The behaviour is currently the same.

I don't see this issue using the latest Buri build on Mozilla Central. We are not actively using unagis ATM for testing, so Media triage team recommends closing this one out unless it can be reproduced reliably on Buri.

So for the Geekphone do I have to download the latest Nightly from http://downloads.geeksphone.com/? It also happens there.

That's because hamachi and buri have fixed-focus cameras; they don't support any kind of auto/continuous focus.

Unagi, on the other hand, does have an auto-focus camera.

This is fixed as of bug 925192, which enables continuous auto-focus in both picture and video modes.
