In our install we offer a check box for launching the browser on close. If checked we open the desktop version. Instead we should launch the metro version.

Even better - detect if the device support touch input. If it does, launch metro, if it doesn't launch desktop.
No longer blocks: metrov1backlog

(In reply to Brian R. Bondy [:bbondy] from comment #2) > if we're not default yet? just desktop or prompt for defaults? Was thinking about that. We would have to put the default browser option back in the installer first.

I don't think those options would help. If you had such an option it would then prompt you for default in the installer again? Why not just prompt for default when they click start firefox if you want to do it that way.

Why not just prompt for > default when they click start firefox if you want to do it that way. Chrome prompts in their installer for the default, then triggers the win8 default dialog from within the installer. If the user selects chrome, the installer exits and launches metro chrome. It;s a much more seamless experience. I was hoping we could do something similar since requiring a desktop launch to set metro as the default seems rather cumbersome when you're on a tablet.
