There are a couple of online discussions that are pointing to a Conduit add-on making about:config redirect to a search site: http://www.reddit.com/r/firefox/comments/1mcnn6/firefox_will_not_let_me_resetchange_my_browser/ https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/968030 The add-on name is entrusted11 and the ID {77beece6-3997-403a-92fa-0055bfcf88e5}. We need to investigate and get a sample of the add-on.
I tried installing this from http://entrusted.ourtoolbar.com/ and didn't see the described behavior, but it's also a completely different ID: {e44a1809-4d10-4ab8-b343-3326b64c7cdd}. It is a search hijacker, though, so we should block it.
Ah. http://entrusted11.ourtoolbar.com/ installs the correct one. It also doesn't seem to break about:config. It is still a search hijacker, though.
