You'll need to check out part of the mozilla.org repository, where the Thunderbird site is being stored. You can:

svn co https://svn.mozilla.org/projects/mozilla.org/branches/staging/thunderbird/

Please translate the file in the mozilla.org svn repository for the Thunderbird 24 What's New page, that is:

/de/thunderbird/24.0/whatsnew/index.html

If you want to provide translated images, you can place them in: 
https://svn.mozilla.org/projects/mozilla.org/branches/staging/thunderbird/img/whatsnew/l10n/
The image names should be:
ignore-threads-de.png
idn-email-de.png


Once the image is on the server, the page will automatically update the <img> tag. You do not need to change it.

The page on the staging server is:
http://www.allizom.org/de/thunderbird/24.0/whatsnew

I just noticed the page

with the IDN screenshot.

The screenshot shows the email address ...@mailsimübermaß.de
The problem with that domain is that it contains the ß which is not supported correctly in Thunderbird yet.
(see bug 479520)

Thanks, I uploaded a new image in r121243 that uses mailtest@mailsimüberfluss.de. Is that better?

Yes, IDN except ß should work fine. Thanks. I guess it will be synced somewhen and is not live yet?
