Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:23.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/23.0 (Beta/Release) Build ID: 20130909080612 Steps to reproduce: My campus recently deployed a web service based upon Oracle's Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE). Apparently, OBIEE tests the browser user agent and blocks you if it detects you are using Firefox. You can test for yourself by going to this link: https://cal-answers-bi.berkeley.edu/ (I am using Firefox 23.0.1 on Linux, if it matters. I don't think it does.) Campus tells me this is because Oracle does not offer "certified support" for Firefox, and so the Oracle service blocks all Firefox users. If Mozilla Evangelists have any resources to try to get Oracle to support web standards, that would be great. I am following all of the channels available to me, as well (advice on how to be effective at that is always welcome if you have any). Unfortunately I do not control our campus's selection of web services, sadly. If you can't do anything, I completely understand -- thanks so much for your time. Actual results: I am locked out. I get a message saying "Your browser is not supported by Oracle BI Presentation Services." Expected results: I should be able to access the web service.
This add-on can be used as workaround to bypass this stupid UA filtering: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/user-agent-switcher/
