1. From DuT call to valid phone number.
2. Once the call is stablished, tap on '+' and call to another phone
3. When the two calls appear on the screen, one on hold and the other active, tap on the merge icon, the arrow on the left on the call held

EXPECTED

Nothing happens when tapping on the icon

Note that when the SIM card doesn't support conference call this is exactly what happens.

Don't know if we could get some kind of error information from the platform, or maybe an indication of the availability of the feature (this way we can just hide the button)?

We have no way of indicating the availability of the feature in advance, but we would provide error information once merge/remove fails. There has been Bug 912849 for this.

Yes, with a SIM card with multi-conference enable it works. So the bug should be the implementation of an error/warning when the multi-conference cannot be started.
