During the work week, we explored the idea of using a split action bar for phones. It was pretty nice. It made us want to share and bookmark more things. Maybe we should do it for real, using this bug.
Designs to come shortly, but to summarize:
- create a bottom toolbar that contains a few commonly used actions (reload, bookmark, share) and an overflow menu icon to contain the rest of the menu bits.
- apply the same scrolling behaviour as the homepage snippet -- as you move your finger up, the bar hides, when you bring it back down the bar reveals itself again.

If this does get the go ahead it should be an opt in setting instead of standard and the only way to do things. I personally want the most web space no matter what point I am on, like scrolling up and among other things.
