User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:24.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/24.0 (Beta/Release) Build ID: 20130910160258 Steps to reproduce: I have a Galaxy Tab 3 10.1, FF 24, and some .mp4 videos. I tried to play the videos directly (by putting the full path to the .mp4 in the location bar) and by using the jwplayer (http://www.longtailvideo.com/support/jw-player). Actual results: When I try to play the .mp4 videos directly (pasting in the full path to the .mp4 file) nothing happens. I get no error messages, just a gray screen. When I try to play the same videos using jwplayer, when I click the play button, nothing happens. The same videos play in FF24 on the Galaxy Tab 2, but the audio is choppy (video is perfect). I can also play the same videos in the Dolphin browser and Android browser on the Galaxy Tab 2 or 3, and Safari on the iPad with no issues. Expected results: If these videos play in FF on the Galaxy Tab 2, and in other browsers on the Galaxy Tab 3, there must be some bug in .mp4 video on FF on the Galaxy Tab 3.
This will be fixed when we officially release and support Android X86 builds of Firefox for Android (hoping for Firefox 25 in the next few weeks). Your Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 is an x86 based device currently emulating ARM based builds of Firefox (what we currently release) from Google Play when it is ran and that can be problematic for native video playback. The current work-around is to use Firefox Beta on Google Play, we currently distribute both ARM and x86 based builds, your Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 will download the appropriate build and will be able to properly playback video from MP4's. I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 as well and just confirmed that Firefox Beta (x86) works.
