User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:24.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/24.0 (Beta/Release)
Build ID: 20130910160258

Steps to reproduce:

Installed and am using AVIRA Antivirus with Firefox 24.0 on Win 7 x64. Wanted Firefox to scan downloads as the DL Mgr config says in about:config.

Downloaded and installed Download Statusbar 0.9.10 Extension and tried the Antivirus avscan.exe Command line options-both in the Free and Command line versions.

Actual results:

In short, neither works invoking any scan.

Expected results:

Would love Firefox to set up a Dialog and Browse box to choose installed antivirus command line function in user-installed AV system, then scan files after download.

*.exe, .zip and *.iso would be preferred.
Component: Untriaged → File Handling
downbar.function.virusScan
Could you please retry without the Download Statusbar 0.9.10 Extension installed? This might be the cause of your issue.

You could also try the following:

1) try this with a clean profile: http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles

2) running in Safe mode: http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode

Tried it - both ways. didn't work.

I would love a Option->Antivirus

Select Antivirus On-demand av scan.exe <name>
User<name> and <downloads> folder

I user Avira free
