The translation interface is not verry good to work with it. May be we have to split this bug...
1. You should be able to hide the english version, because both textareas needs a lot of place on small screens.
2. You should be able to resize both textareas.
3. You have only a vertical scrollbar on the english textarea, and only a horizontal for the translated one. Thats very irritaiting!
4. Edit page title and properties is hide by default in english, but not in the translation interface
5. There is no editor interface for the english texarea, that's bad, because sometimes you need to copy a part of the source code (ex. compatibility table or syntax).
6. If the articles has a diffrent lenght, you can't compare them, because the textareas are not streched until both are finished.
I hope you can reproduce every point and finde a way to implement them.

Agreed. We need to start a project to improve the translation interface (and overall translator experience) on MDN, but this does not block the redesign launch as it's the same functionality we have currently.
I'd like to create as a project & spec out the improvements and how they would work (UX, functionality, etc( in more detail, and then get this done later this year (once the redesign is public).

Oh ! Found a perfect bug. :) Could I be of any help here. I wanted to do something like this for Mozilla and at the same time use ML and AI to simplify the tasks of translation using natural language processing. If there's an existing design front which you've started, i've love to hop in and contribute.

I just updated a few articles and it's *really* annoying.
A little update to the scrollbar problem: The horizontal scrollbar in the translation interface is on the bottom of the textarea. This is useless on very long texts.

A better way to move forward here is to open a discussion on our discourse, so that we can improve the l10n experience and prioritize fixing the most annoying things. Thank you.
