Delphine, I think this is more a feature request than a bug. What do you think? Shall I wontfix this or are we going to reassign and ask the devs to look into this? From my personal point of view it's nice to have but definetely not blocking anything for sk.

Although Slovak uses latin Alphabet, it has some special characters that don't show up in the contact vertical sorting list. I agree we should not block on this, but it would be nice to have for 1.3 I see this seems similar to the issue presented in Bug 914558 ni? Kaze to see if he can help with this one as well ;)

Right now, all Latin scripts are sorted with the 26-letter A-Z alphabet; i.e. names starting with “ä” will always be sorted along with “A”, even if “ä” is considered as a separate letter, like in Scandinavian languages — and possibly Slovak, too. This issue is common to all languages that consider Latin letters with diacritics (or digraphs) as separate letters — and there are a lot of them. But we can’t solve this issue properly until Gecko’s `.localeCompare' implementation supports the `locales' argument [1]; this is enabled in the current nightlies, so we’ll probably be able to do that for the Gecko 28 branch (and Gaia 1.3). I think we can close this as a duplicate of bug 914558. [1] https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/JavaScript/Reference/Global_Objects/String/localeCompare
