I've received a complaint from somebody who didn't like the fact that
they couldn't turn off the min/max buttons on the browser window.
On a related front, I think the fact that (all) our dialogs have min/max
buttons is perhaps a bug. I tried using resizable="no" on
window.openDialog but it didn't seem to have any effect. So maybe this
is temporary (although it isn't obvious that resizable="no" should
necessarily imply no min/max, and vice-versa).
Related to that, there's a problem whereby *every* window shows up in
the Windows task bar. I have a bug about that for at least one dialog
(see http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=7146). I know this is
controlled by a style flag on Windows (and likewise on at least one
other platform).
I posted this to netscape.public.mozilla.xpfe recently. I've decided that a bug
is the best way to ensure that the issue gets resolved. I will be making my bug
(#7146) dependent on this one.
I think we should be given some control over various window styles in
some XP way. Perhaps this should be via additional features on
window.open (and window.openDialog) or maybe via attributes on the
<window> tag in the .xul source). What's our plan for dealing with
these issues?
Thank you,
Bill Law

Reassigning to danm as p2 for M9 (at least to agree on a plan). cc evaughan for
style issues.

Turns out this is a scheduled task for me. Closing as a duplicate of that scheduled one.
