In bug 933693 I fixed an error message that appears when running the test. Shouldn't the test maybe break? Does it actually test what it's supposed to?
It looks like the test won't fail even though it is broken, because nothing is checking the observer functions have actually been called - and the observer functions are the ones containing the relevant tests.

Thankfully we have other tests that check for the notifications, but really this test needs re-writing.
