Details
I have identified several issues with contextual menus on Mac OS X (apologies if
these are in other bugs, but a quick search didn't reveal anything).
Ctrl-clicking or right-clicking should make the menu appear immediately. (I
can't tell if the delay I'm seeing is due to a wait, or due to the menu taking
time to be create.)
Clicking on disabled items or separators should make the menu go away. It
doesn't in Mozilla.
A click to bring the menu up should leave the menu up until the next click. A
click-and-hold should dismiss the menu when the mouse is released (like the way
the menubar menus work).

neiter right-click ctrl-click or holding the left button produces a contextual menu.

1) is speed related only.
2) is not specific to osx
3) is another bug of mine
marking invalid as this bug isn't really anything new, though the spirit is
appreciated.
