Details

I often have bugs that I care about and would like notification when commented on, but aren't important enough to me to give one of my votes to. This is what CC'ing yourself is for, but I don't think everyone else on the CC list really cares that I have done so. Yes, they could turn off CC changes, but then they won't necessarily be notified if they are accidentally removed. It is also understandable that no-one should be able to CC someone else without that person being notified of the change. How about a button or link (next to the voting link?) to simply CC yourself?
Forgot to set the severity. Sorry about that.

There is a seperate filtering pref for if "I" am the one being added or removed on the CC list (or any other bug relationship) that is not effected by your other prefs in that category. For instance, I have CC changes off, but if I were to be cc'd to this bug I would get the mail (even if nothing else happened) because I have the pref to receive CC changes (added or removed) to my id on.
Ok, I missed that one when reporting this. My bad. I still feel like I'm generating a lot of spam when CC'ing myself to bugs, but feel free to resolve this as invalid. People can turn off the spam.
Well, at least I'm not the only one not completely satisfied with the current state of affairs. :P *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 7345 ***
