I can't reproduce this. :-(

Are you still seeing this? Could you try if you can reproduce on a new profile or in safe mode? Are there any errors in the browser console when this happens?

I'm sorry you can't reproduce it. I still see the errors, I just tried with old profile, a new profile, and the new profile in safe mode, all on the 5 December and 6 December Nightly builds. In all cases the problem occurred. It appears identical to the prior attached photograph.

The console displayed no messages when the menu or the help section was displayed.

Hrm. Can you think of anything non-default about your Ubuntu setup that might affect this? Font size, display density and theme are something that'd come to mind, but maybe there are other things...
Flags: needinfo?(bj)
The missing information is likely XFCE.

I'm using XFCE on Ubuntu 12.04.3 LTS. The hardware is a three year old Dell Studio 17. The display is set at native 1920x1024.

No change to the XFCE desktop theme. The Window manager theme is the Default. (I set windows to snap to window and screen borders, but that shouldn't affect display inside a window.) I have one XFCE tool-bar, it is at the top of the screen.

The Firefox font settings don't matter as the behavior happens with a clean profile.
xsettings/Gtk/FontName : Sans 10
 /IconThemeName : elementrary-xfce-dark
xettings/Xft/DPI : 96
 /LcdFilter : lcddefault
 /RGBA : none

Do you still see this issue?
