User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.3; WOW64; rv:26.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/26.0 (Beta/Release) Build ID: 20131118212339 Steps to reproduce: go to https://www.guerrillamail.com/ and https://www.alipay.com/ Actual results: The flash placeholder is not overall, for example the "copy to clipboard" in https://www.guerrillamail.com/ There is no placeholder for other plugins ,for example:https://www.alipay.com/ It is so annoyed! Expected results: Show placeholder in plugins everywhere just like chrome!
i have use click_to_play in all plugins.
Summary: plugins placeholder → show plugins placeholder everywhere when click_to_play
If the plugin is too small to show the placeholder then there is not much we can do. Can you upload screenshots comparing different browsers?
Component: Untriaged → Plug-ins
OS: Windows 8.1 → All
Product: Firefox → Core
Hardware: x86_64 → All
I do recommend that you download Nightly and see what we are doing there by showing a notification bar when the plugins are too small.
Flags: needinfo?(mess7788)
On alipay.com/ there is no visible plugin in neither Chrome 33 or Firefox Nightly (which shows the notification bar fine). On guerillamail.com/ we actually show a placeholder for the Flash ad just like Chrome - keep in mind to disable AdBlock if you use that.
Isn't this a duplicate of bug 932854?
I don't know. If this bug is "show an infobar when plugins aren't visible", then yes it's a duplicate. If this is "always show an infobar, even when plugins are visible" then it is WONTFIX.

I have tried and seen that. Firstly,it is not show in any site that the placeholder does not show, for exmaple www.alipay.com . Then,I think the notification bar is a good idea. There may be several flashs but I only want to allow only one of them by this time.Firefox's design makes me hardly to get the goal. The problem does not exist in chrome and opera12.Also it is ok by NoScript and flashblock addons.
I am confused by what comment 10 means. Are you saying that alipay.com shows the plugin infobar or not? Does it show the icon in the location bar?

Does it show > the icon in the location bar? My English is poor, sorry. The url bar always have notifiaction. By nightly firefox 28,there are notification bar in some sites, but it did not show in www.alipay.com here. I don not think the TCP change in 24+ is a good idea. For emample, there is 3 flash videos in one page,i have to make them work together now. If they all have placeholders ,I can fix this problem by addon which make TCP work like 23-. However,it is too hard now!

The notification bar shows fine for me on www.alipay.com on Fx28 for Alipay. Maybe you already chose "continue blocking" so it doesn't show up anymore now. Try pasting and running the code from [1] in Tools->Web Developer->Browser Console, then reload the page and see if the bar comes up again.

It is very easy both in firefox and chrome just because big placeholder. However,if they are too small to show placeholders? The notification bar works for all flash in this page, not specific one.

This is currently by design, maybe an addon could provide different solutions here ([1] does it for non-hidden ones). Let us know if you have more specific steps on the notification bar not showing up on pages with hidden plugins. Thanks! [1] https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/click-to-play-per-element/
that is an extension feature, not directly supported by Firefox.
