Details

(Whiteboard: [Australis:P3])

Alt-right and Alt-left no longer work in Australis. They used to be bound to "Forward" and "Backward" respectively.

On Fedora Linux.
It works for me on Windows. I think this is something to do with bug 940040.

Summary: Alt-right and Alt-left no longer work in Australis → Alt-right and Alt-left no longer work in Australis on Linux
Also it should be noted I set ui.key.menuAccessKeyFocuses to false so that Alt alone does nothing. In case that matters for the STR.
They still work for me on Fedora 19 x86_64 running nightly both in my profile and a clean one.

are examples of pages in 32 bit Linux/KDE3 where Alt-left and Alt-right in rv20.0 FF, rv29.0 FF and rv26.0 SM do no more than flinch the statusbar unless lucky enough to find an appropriate place to click prior to using those keystrokes. Attempting to use them again after an Alt-right terminates expected function that results from an appropriate click.
Depends on: 940040
Now that bug 940040 has been fixed, on a nightly from today, can you still reproduce this issue?

Nope, still happening on some sites, like IMDB. Looks like a focus issue as fiddling with tab / shift-Tab to navigate text fields allow to alt-Left or alt-Right at some point.

At least the IMDB page seems to be related to the fact that the page has keyhandlers (to navigate between the pictures) and those prevent us from executing the default action. That's likely a dupe of an existing issue (bug 380637, for instance). As comment #6 says it happens with "some sites", and comment 0 implied it doesn't work on any, I'm going to mark this as WFM - there doesn't seem to be Australis-related breakage anymore.

If you have any testcases that work on Holly (https://tbpl.mozilla.org/?tree=Holly - like Nightly but without Australis) but not on Nightly, please let us know and reopen.
