We can remove this without breaking mailnews once bug 805374 is fixed.
- ISO-2022-JP is not listed in the IE charset menu.
- After MS10-090, IE does not auto-detect ISO-2022-JP anymore.
- It is XSS sensitive, so we should not allow users to choose ISO-2022-JP.

I thought http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2482017 reverted that. Is that not the case?

The menu item itself was removed in bug 1687635, in favor of the "Repair Text Encoding" menu.
Is this bug still relevant?
