Details

The bookmark file seems to double in size every time Mozilla is run. This has occurred for several versions, including 0.9.3. I have seen the file get as large as 1GB, which slows the loading process (or inhibits it) when Mozilla is started and degrades system performance. The system works fine with a read-only bookmark file, but this is only a temporary fix and inhibits any adding, removing or editing of bookmarks. OS in Windows 2000, SP2 but the problem was also noticed when I was using Windows NT, SP6. Reviewing the ballooned file indicates the program is appending another copy of the bookmark information to the end of the file, producing a file with several copies of the same stuff. This may be related to bugs 70174, 77133, 91782, and 93675, but I can not say for sure from the descriptions.
