We probably don't need to be able to run on machines with less than gtk 2.18 and gtk 2.18 requires atk 1.13 so we probably don't need code to support atk < 1.9 anymore.
Note we still allow to build against gtk 2.10, although i'm not sure that still actually works. And I /think/ that allows redhat to backport on RHEL5.
rhel 5 should be fine, the list of packages on the seamonkey centos 5 slaves is https://callek.pastebin.mozilla.org/3751197 and you'll note that includes atk 1.12. However we can't really do to much clean up till we can require atk 1.30 which probably means requiring gtk3.
Arguably, what we have on the centos 5 slaves may not be what's actually in rhel5. Martin can give some better insight.
