This issue is still occuring but is intermittent. The user will not be able to import Facebook contacts after the device has been used . Upon doing a fresh reset (FTU), they will then be able to import Facebook contacts without any problems. 

Repro Steps:
1) Updated Buri Master M-C mozRIL to BuildID: 20131211040203
2) Open Contacts app
3) Go to Settings (gear icon) > Sync friends > sign into Facebook
4) Select any number of friends and press Update.

Actual:
User is stuck on "Importing friends to contacts" loading screen.

Expected:
Selected Facebook friends are imported and updated properly.

The repro rate of this bug is 80/90%

Hi guys, as Tony mentions after executing a |make reset-gaia| the Facebook synchronization seems to work fine. If we execute |make install-gaia| afterwards, the Facebook synchronization stops working as Tony mentions. In fact, I just confirmed that it is enough rebooting the device to get the previously buggy behaviour. Even further, if I import a Facebook contact, after rebooting the device although the contact appears in the contact list (with no photo either Facebook icon BTW) I am not able to see his details clicking on him :-( , so the buggy behaviour goes beyond what it is reported by Tony (just if this helps).

Seems to be highly related to bug 938406 so need-infoing Andrea ;-)

Yes, it seems exactly the same bug. The patch for bug 938406 is just landed in m-i.
Once the patch is in m-c, can someone test this bug again? I'm quite sure this bug is a duplicate of bug 938406

Hi guys, I just confirmed that after landing bug 938406 (thanks to Andreas ;-) )...
  1.Using Gecko-5cfcfcf and Gaia master: the Facebook synchronization works as expected, at least this bug does not reproduce. Rebooting included :-)
  2. Using Gecko-12e9915 and Gaia v1.3:  the Facebook synchronization works as expected after |make reset| but if the device is rebooted the bug reproduces and the "Importing friends to Contacts" never closes (and of course the additional Facebook contacts are not synchronized) :-( So I guess some uplifting is needed for bug 938406.

This issue does NOT reproduce for me on the 12/13 Master M-C (1.4) build. While testing I rebooted the device about 6 times. In between each reboot I browsed the internet, opened and used a couple apps, and sync'ed and unsync'ed the Facebook contacts from the Contacts list.

I am providing the information requested from Tony.
