Details |
The user cannot directly import a picture to facebook to set as the cover image. The user must first upload the image to their Facebook, then modify the cover photo with the newly downloaded image.
Repro Steps:
1) Updated Buri to Build ID: 20131209004003
2) Install Facebook app from marketplace. (Issue also occurs in E.Me version)
3) Tap on the three horizontal bars in the upper left corner of the screen.
4) Tap on Profile name.
5) Tap on Cover photo to edit image.
Actual:
User can only select an image that has been previously uploaded to FB.
Expected:
User can upload a local photo from the gallery.

I've tested this on ZTE OPEN C v1.3 and I was able to use a pic from the gallery of my device (NOT previously uploaded to FB) as my profile picture.
Also, I was able to use as profile picture one taken directly with the camera of the device and NOT previously uploaded to FB
The issue may be because, when trying to change your profile picture there is a big button that says "Add a Photo" and if you press it does nothing. If you tap, instead on the picture shown just above that big button you are able to change your profile pic.
Can anyone else confirm that it works so we can close it?

Hi all
I've noticed that I was referring to the PROFILE picture and not the cover photo which was the issue of this bug.
It is not possible to use a picture from the gallery or the camera as a COVER photo if not preloaded previously to FB although I understand that this is the intended UX
Therefore, let's keep this bug as fixed unless you think it's worth reopening
