All set; I'll assume this also constitutes as informing releng about the need to kick buildbot. :-D
hgssh1.dmz.scl3#export REPO_PATH=mozilla-central
hgssh1.dmz.scl3#export TWIG=cypress
hgssh1.dmz.scl3#
hgssh1.dmz.scl3#cd /repo/hg/scripts/
hgssh1.dmz.scl3#./reset_pp_repo.sh -s /repo/hg/mozilla/$REPO_PATH -r tip -d $TWIG
Cloning revision tip from /repo/hg/mozilla/mozilla-central to cypress
Deleting repo /repo/hg/mozilla/projects/cypress
Proceed? (y/n): y

Callek clarified it:
<Callek> armenzg: kicking buildbot *schedulers* is required everytime a repo is reset
<Callek> armenzg: its just a "reconfig" of the schedulers
<Callek> armenzg: otherwise we get confused state with the fact that the pushlog was reset
<Callek> armenzg: and if we're unlucky it can also completely hang schedulers for other trees if we don't do it
<armenzg> Callek, so should I run a reconfig now?
<Callek> well depends on what bhearsum|buildduty says, but "yes"
<Callek> armenzg: just schedulers is all thats needed
<armenzg> ah OK
