Details
According to RFC 1036, "Standard for Interchange of USENET Messages", replies to
newsgroup messages with the header "Followup-To" value of "poster" should be
sent back to the e-mail address of the original sender.
From Section "2.2.3. Followup-To":
"If the keyword poster is present, follow-up messages are not permitted. The
message should be mailed to the submitter of the message via mail."
http://www.w3.org/Protocols/rfc1036/rfc1036.html
Both the Mozilla 0.9.3 and the Netscape 6.1 implementations deviate from this
Internet standard in that they send such messages to a newsgroup called "poster"
instead of the e-mail address of the poster. The result is that many replies to
newsgroup messages will be lost, disrupting communication.
