A failed forceAuth means that FxA no longer trusts the device owner and should tell RPs such as Marketplace to log them out. For Where's My Fox, that trust failure is why it should stay logged in

In conversation, Guilherme and I think that the standard onlogout handler is all he needs.

We can add a 'reason' parameter to the onlogout event if that helps.

Per comment 1, it turns out WMF at the product level doesn't care whether a password challenge succeeded or failed, so this feature is not needed.
