Facebook chat has problems when moving buddies between groups, maybe because their XMPP gateway doesn't support moving buddies (check this?).

Problem: the same buddy can appear in several groups after moving it and reconnecting the account. Sometimes they even have a different status, that is one available, the other not/away.

Facebook friends are no longer showing even though the FB account is connected. I deleted the FB account from Instantbird and re-configured it and still my friends aren't showing

Is this still an open problem now fb is via JS-XMPP?

I'm resolving this as there's been no activity and I haven't seen this issue. Please reopen this if there are still issue.
