The community has spoken: we're renaming 'Web Literacy Standard' to 'Web Literacy Map' in 2013. So we need to not only do a find/replace but also rename /standard to /map and ensure a redirect works.

*2014. <sigh> I'll sort out the Mozilla wiki, but if we could change the text on the front page of webmaker.org/map to: "The Web Literacy Map shows the competencies and skills that Mozilla and our community of stakeholders believe are important to pay attention to when getting better at reading, writing and participating on the web."
/map may not not a good url here (it's quite semantically loaded), it might make more sense to go with /literacy. Want to do a quick back and forth on the best url here?

+1 to webmaker.org/literacy

@ Pomax: re changing all instances of "Standard" to "Map" -- are you able to run a find and replace on that?

I'm happy with 'literacy' - that was one of the original suggestions anyway. :-)
yup, if it's on webmaker.org, sublimetext2 can do a find/replace-all for us.

Doug, will "(specification)" also be removed from the bolded title? I suggest it be removed, as it is confusing here.

Yes, let's remove '(specification)' as it's redundant now that we're moving away from 'Standard'. What we may want to do is to include a version number. I know Brett had some concerns about this, but I think it's necessary to avoid confusion when people align activities/badges.

So I did and Brett didn't seem to have a problem with versioning. Perhaps hold off until we confirm at the Toronto work week?

sure thing, when we know the exact replacements we want, we can then work them in relatively quickly

If we can, I'd like to push ahead with: 1. Renaming everything that says 'Web Literacy Standard' to 'Web Literacy Map' 2. Redirecting all the things from /standard to /literacy Why? Well, it's adding unnecessary ambiguity to communications. Also, versioning is a separate issue. Feel free to ping me on IRC at GMT-friendly hours if you need anything faster than Bugzilla can provide. ;-)

+1. Pomax, does that give you what you need? Any blockers we still need to clear on this ticket?

This patch changes the web literacy standard into the web literacy map, with /standard being replaced by /literacy Before we land this, it would be extremely useful if someone can double-check that I caught all the instances where a string replacement needed to occur. (also note that the /standard link will still work, but will say "301, this resource has permanently moved to:" and then redirect you to the corresponding /literacy link instead)

Comment on attachment 8374449 [details] [review] https://github.com/mozilla/webmaker.org/pull/598 r+ with that rebase. I have tested and the 301 worked perfectly and did a global search to see if any missing link and everything changed according to my search :)
