For the duration of the transition into customization mode, the location bar shows the string "about:customizing" before becoming empty.
This makes the transition look more wonky than it actually is, so the bar should be cleared throughout the entire transition.
Not sure if this is the same issue, but the search field should also get blanked out at the beginning of the transition (not at the end as it happens now)

There's a patch in bug 963999 that fixes this issue, so I'll dupe it to that bug.
