http://jsmess.textfiles.com/messloader.html?module=coleco&scale=2&game=ColecoVision%20Smooth%20Criminal.col&autostart=true Sound plays in chrome, but no sound is heard on firefox nightly on my machine. This is on linux.
Note that you need to click off the "mute" checkbox. But after doing so I get very poor quality audio, not recognizable as the original song unlike chrome.
Summary: No sound in JSMESS smooth criminal example → Bad sound in JSMESS smooth criminal example
I assume you mean trunk Nightly, as we have no intention to support web audio in esr24. The demo would use the moz audio data api on esr24, I expect. I hear distorted sound (with default unset value of media.audio_data.enabled) and a lag of a second or so from the animation, but i hear the same distortion and lag with chromium 33.0.1750.46. In my trunk build, with a couple of patches applied, main thread cpu is ~75% and doesn't change on mute, while MSG thread usage is ~25% reducing to 0 when muted. I wonder whether buffers are being scheduled far enough in the future to play on time.
Version: 24 Branch → Trunk
Yes, I meant normal nightly from mozilla-central. On my laptop the sound in chrome is actually quite good, and not recognizable on firefox as I said above - i wonder what makes the difference compared to your setup.
Probably the same as bug 956574 I get the same behaviour, decent sound in Chrome 31.0.1650.63 m, crappy sound in Aurora (Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.2; WOW64; rv:28.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/28.0)

Karl -- This looks to be the same issue (a dup?) of bug 956574

I didn't mean to remove the dependency on bug 956574.

I wonder whether this web page has changed. This now sounds way way better, even in Firefox 27.0.1, than in Chromium, and there is almost no lag in Firefox. It is always stuttery and barely recognizable in Chromium. There is still distortion when the Firefox is doing something else (focus changes, etc.)
The testcase no longer exists. Not much point keeping this open.
