Details
I download a fresh copy of firefox 27 for linux from firefox's website. I start it on a profile with no extension installed. I log into gmail's "standard" view. (html 5). I then exit firefox, through File->Quit.
Firefox window closes, but the process named firefox persists and consume 100% CPU, as seen on "top command", unless I kill it explicitly.

Wow, I'm amazed! I thought it has something to do with gmail's javascript magic. But no, even when I open it in Basic HTML and quit, it consumes 100% cpu as well!

Just can't figure out the bug. I disabled all the plugins, started in the safe-mode so all the extensions are disabled. But when I go to gmail and quit firefox, I still have 100 cpu and hang. And others don't seem to have the same problem, so I have to conclude that this is the fault of my admittedly outdated ubuntu 10.04 installation...
