We currently show a "warning" icon in the following error states: - when an authentication failure occurred (e.g. password has been changed): the menu panel shows "sign in again" text with a warning icon - in the "not verified" state (you haven't yet verified your email): the prefs pane shows "not verified" with a warning icon Madhava mentioned that it might be a bit extreme to be showing warning icons in both of these states. We may want to only show it if authentication has failed for a long time, for example.

We've redone the hamburger menu and sync preferences pane in in-content prefs and removed usage of the warning icon.
