From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:0.9.3) Gecko/20010808 BuildID: 2001090914 (9.3 on RH 7.1 + ximian) If you have multiple mozilla browser windows open (eg: in every workspace 1) and surfing in 1 page results in requesting an invalid url. You get an error pop-up over the window that caused it. But all other windows (in other workspaces) also do not respond to keys/mouse anything. untill you look and switch to the workspace with the offending browser windows and click the OK button on the error mesg. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open 2 browser windows (eg in 2 different workspaces) 2. point window 1 to and invalid url 3. while that is loading go to an other (valid) url with window 2 Actual Results: window 2 does not respond to anything. And the use has _no clue_ what's going wrong. (the error box is in the other workspace) Expected Results: window 2 still works ok. only checked this on linux. netscape 4.77 does the right thing. If you have pages that loads really fast (or dns that get resolved very fast) you don't get bitten by this bug, because before you have to the chance to switch to the second window you already have the error box.but browsing on a dial-up connection this is really annoying. as this had something todo with dialog I guessed the component responsible for this is XP apps but this should be checked (with this I mean I have no clue :)
You aren't, by chance, using a PAC file for proxy config, are you? If so, please post it.
no proxy whatsoever
This is a dupe of bug 65521. Also see bug 74331 which is very similar. Arguably this could be a dupe of both.... *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 65521 ***
