User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.3; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/32.0.1700.107 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce: Your program automatically updated my firefox to a version that, Apparently, does not work on windows 8.1. I am not sure what else to do. Actual results: I was prompted to download the new version of Firefox as is the norm with firefox updates. It downloaded what it was supposed to and has never been able to come up since. Expected results: I think it should update and work fine, but now I have lost everything that was on my firefox account like all my bookmarks etc.

Could you open the application.ini file located in the Firefox install directory (typically C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\ for a release or beta build but it will be different for other builds and custom installs). Then post the value of Version= to this bug. Thanks!

Based on the date you filed this report, you're referring to either Firefox 27.0 or 27.0.1. Windows 8 started being officially supported as far back as Firefox 17. http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/17.0/system-requirements/ > I am not sure what else to do. In case of problems with Firefox or other Mozilla software, head over to the support forum. https://support.mozilla.org/questions/new > It downloaded what it was supposed to and has never been able to come up since. The following support article lists solutions to Firefox failing to start. https://support.mozilla.org/kb/firefox-wont-start-find-solutions Also, when Firefox fails to start after an update, that's often the fault of security software. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135 No reply in two months.
