The first/last tab can be almost hidden. It definitely should have reasonable minimum width.

I'm not sure what you want us to do here or what the real problem is? Do you just want a smaller minimum width?

I want to see more of a tab. What's the point of seeing 2 pixels of a tab?
I should be able to see at least fav icon + two letters of the tab title. 
The same problem is with the left side in the tab bar: sometimes I can see just a tiny part of a tab.

I could not remember I ever saw it in pre-Australis design. There were always reasonable part of the first/last tab shown.

Well, tab widths don't change when scrolling, so for certain window sizes you're always going to potentially end up with a tab that's slightly visible at one end or the other.

I don't remember pre-Australis doing any tab-scroll snapping, but it maybe seems to from a quick experiment? Not a major issue.
