As decided in bug 911257, we should disable the Store on Windows 8.1 nodes, as this might interfere with "Setting the default application" script. Here are the steps for doing this: http://www.howtogeek.com/111933/how-to-disable-the-windows-store-in-windows-8/
I disabled the store for staging nodes mm-win-81-64 and mm-win-81-32.
So what about our production machines? Given that no breakage has been reported we can also do the updates there now? I have updated the ESX docs to mention the given step: https://mana.mozilla.org/wiki/display/websites/QA+Automation+ESX+Service#QAAutomationESXService-Installation.1

Oh, in production this setting would also have to be applied for Windows 8.
